Cracked Screen: Repair It or Replace the Phone?

Start with the value of the phone

As a rule of thumb, a repair is worth it when it costs less than half of what the phone is worth today. A three-year-old mid-range phone with a 299 PLN screen bill is usually still a good deal; a five-year-old budget phone rarely is.

Check what else is failing

A cracked screen on a phone whose battery is also at 70 percent health means two repairs, not one. Ask for both to be quoted together before deciding.

Do not wait

A crack lets dust and moisture reach the digitiser and the board. What starts as a cosmetic problem becomes an expensive one within weeks.
