Original, OEM or Aftermarket Parts: What’s the Difference?

Part quality decides how long a repair lasts. Here is how to read a quote and know exactly what you are paying for.

Original (OEM service parts)

Made by or for the phone manufacturer. Perfect colour, brightness and touch response, and full feature support. The most expensive option.

OEM-equivalent

Produced on the same production lines or to the same specification, without manufacturer branding. In practice very close to original, at a noticeably lower price. This is what most repairs use.

Aftermarket

Third-party parts of varying quality. Cheaper, but colour accuracy, brightness and touch can be visibly worse, and lifespan is shorter.

Always ask which category your quote uses. A price that looks too good usually answers the question by itself.

Every ULYNK quote states the part category up front, and eligible repairs are covered by our warranty.
